Currently in our 81st year, Second Alarmers (SARS) is a premier 911 EMS agency serving over 250,000 residents and responding from 5 stations to over 11k calls annually. With 50 full time and over 50 part time career members SARS is one of the area’s largest 911 EMS employers. SARS fleet of 12 ambulances are equipped with the latest technology available to allow our highly skilled providers to deliver industry leading care. SARS is one of a handful of agencies in PA that have been recognized at the Gold+ standard by the AHA Mission Lifeline year after year. Our department has representatives on many clinical committees at local receiving hospitals. SARS has a dedicated EMS supervisor working 24/7 to assist crews and oversee operations.
